About MOPS

Who We Are

We represent young families in Ashland.  More specifically, we’ve been connecting with and serving young families with children under 6 years old through our Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) program over the past 3.5 years.  MOPS is an international organization with over 92,000 MOPS groups in the US alone.  Its purpose is to reach women in perhaps their most isolating season of life, early motherhood, as well as their families.  MOPS focuses on encouraging these women as a woman, mom, and leader through regular meetings.

Ashland MOPS meetings are held on a bi-weekly basis in the evenings, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, September-May, from 6:30 PM – 8:oo PM at First Congregational Church on the corner of 16th & Boyd.

Another vital component of MOPS is the childcare we offer.  While the moms are enjoying a break from their kids as well as having the opportunity to grow in all kinds of ways, their kids are lovingly cared for by our team of volunteers in what’s called MOPPETS.  This means that Dad gets the night off, which is another way MOPS serves young families!  We serve a meal to both the moms and kids at each MOPS meeting and both groups have special plans for each evening.
